How to Increase your business with this ONE easy idea!!!!

 

Find the “Hidden Assets” in your business.

Dear Friend,  

How would you like to increase the amount of business you are doing right now?  Would you like to benefit from 2, 5, 10 times more business from your existing customers?  Not to mention the profit from all this extra business?  

Of course, you are thinking….

YES, I would love it.  And who wouldn’t!   

THEN…..Discover the fortune that lies hidden within your existing customers!!!  

If you truly want to get more business….then you will love what I’m about to tell you.   

Most of you may know me as “Steve Hurst”, the poor unfortunate soul who Bob Killillay is constantly badgering in his emails (not to mention picking on my little dog).  

First of all, let me share with you some of my background (and not the one Bob has created for me).  I spent over 20 years in sales, marketing and management with great success in another industry.  After becoming burned out, I changed professions and started working with computers. 

I've used all my sales and marketing knowledge in operating my computer business.  Bob encouraged me to take all this experience and pass it on to others.  

In any event, let me tell you how this whole idea got started.  One day Bob and I were having a cup of coffee and talking about his customers.  Now, as you may or may not know, Bob is involved in a number of ventures.  

He has his own ISP service, Pre-Paid Legal, Cardservice International, NextDayPC , his own computer service business and plus more (oh, yeah….and giving me a bad time in his emails).  

As we were talking I asked Bob...,

  “How many of your ISP customers know you offer these other services?”  

 Before he could answer, I continued with, “Have you ever actively contacted any of your customers about the other services that you provide?” (the key word here being “actively”).   

He answered, “No.”   

“Have you explained to your ISP customers that you even offer these other services?  Same with the computer customers, PPL, etc….”  “Can you IMAGINE the increase in your business if you approached EACH & EVERY customer with the choice to BUY MORE of your services?????”   

I explained to Bob that in sales one of the most important things is to get your customers to trust you.  That’s usually the hardest thing to do.  Then I said, “Bob, here you have all these customers who trust you and WANT to do business with you because they TRUST YOU!  And since they do, you OWE it to them to let them know about the other services you offer!”  

How many of you have had this happen….you’re with a customer and notice that they have purchased from someone else a product or service, that you offer?  You say to the customer, “I offer that product/service”, to which the customer replies, “I didn’t know you offer that.”  

So what is the ONE EASY IDEA to help you increase your business…….

Tell ALL your customers about EVERYTHING you have to offer!!!  

Have you ever noticed that some of the hardest things we want to do, tend to be very simple once we understand the concept and/or take a moment to step away and look at the situation from a different perspective?  

Now some of you may be saying…. “Well, that’s okay for Bob, he has different things he’s offering, me, I only do _______ (fill in the blank).”  

Let's suppose you said computers, there are many aspects of the business:  

  • Repairing computers
  • Repairing printers
  • Training to use the computer
  • Training to use software
  • Setting up networks
  • Troubleshooting networks
  • Selling computers
  • Selling software
  • Selling networking products
  • Selling digital cameras
  • Selling scanners

And the list can keep going on and on.  I hope you see the possibilities.  

If you care about your customers and truly want them to have the best, then you OWE it to them to let them know what you provide.  Customers are “silently begging to be led”.  So, lead them to the sale.  

And don’t “assume” that a customer doesn’t need any of your other services. 

Let “them” make that decision not YOU.  

You might be surprised if you went to your customers and asked them if they know you do “x” or offer “y”.  They probably don’t know exactly all the things you have to offer.  It is up to you to EDUCATE your customers to what YOU HAVE TO OFFER!!!!   

If you take this idea and use it with all your other customers…..you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the increase of business.  Once it starts, business keeps multiplying.  

Now as you read this, I’m sure you are saying to yourself, “Well that is obvious”… or is it?  It may be obvious as you read it, but when you are in the day to day grind of working with customers and their problems, we tend to be so focus on what’s happening at the moment, we lose site of these other things. 

We tend to be “re-active” not “pro-active”.  

We sometimes think of our customers as only needing us for specific things that we do for them.  Example, if you do repair work for them, they only need you for repair work.   

If your customer sees you only as the person that repairs the computer(s), do they think about you when it’s time to buy that digital camera the family has been wanting (one of the hottest selling items)?   And software, customers are always getting new software, did they buy it from you?  

So, REMEMBER…. tell ALL your customers about EVERY ONE of the services or products you can provide to and for them.  

You have to keep doing this as an ongoing part of doing business.
